Irish blogger Sinéad De Butléir praised for sharing “real and honest” postpartum photos

Irish fashion blogger Sinéad De Butléir has been praised for showing off her “real” postpartum body to followers after giving birth just eight days ago.

The nurse posted a series of photos today giving fans an insight into how the last week has been for her as a new mum.

She captioned it: “Post-Partum bodies. Stretch marks ✔️Leaking boobs ✔️Stitches ✔️Bleeding ✔️Tears ✔️Haemorrhoids ✔️
Unconditional love✔️”

Sinéad uploaded five raw and relatable images showing her nursing baby girl Mallaidh, revealing her stretch marks and showing her crying.

Since posting to Instagram, Sinéad’s followers have been commenting sweet messages and have been praising her for her honesty.

One wrote: “Our bodies need more love, respect and celebration right now than any other time. This body is incredible.

“This body created life. This body needs to heal. This body is unconditional love. Thank you for posting this.”

Another said: “You are doing amazing Sinead, the 4th trimester that needs so much more attention.”

“Thank you for normalising this”

Her followers were pleased to see Sinéad post realistic postpartum photos with many praising her for being “so honest and real”.

One comment read: “Love how you’re keeping it real and so so many new mothers will resonate with this. Congratulations and fair play to you for your honesty, you’re doing an amazing job.”

Another said: “Your a true blogger who totally deserves to be followed. Showing the reality behind been a new mum, the amazing job our bodies do to carry our wee humans and every stretch mark tells that sorry. Blessed.”

This mum wrote: “Thank you for normalising this. You are doing an amazing job new mum.”

Fellow influencers including Rosanna Davison and Anna Geary also took the time to send Sinéad some love.

Anna who is currently expecting her first child wrote: “Amazing.”

Fitness guru Niamh Cullen also commented: “You’re incredible Sinead.”

April was a very exciting month for the Kilkenny native who also celebrated her one year anniversary married to hubby Eamonn McGinley.

Just last week, the couple announced the birth of their first child and Sinéad revealed baby girl’s name on Instagram.

Sharing a photo of herself and Eamonn nursing the newborn in hospital, she said: “No words. Our beautiful girl Mallaidh McGinley came into our lives at 12:28 am on 30.04.23.

“I cannot describe the love we have for her.”
