Right so, get the tissues out!

We know that this is an incredibly busy time of year for a lot of mums. It’s the season that demands an awful lot of juggling, certainly.

It’s something that one Co Cork woman, aged 85, know only too well. Nancy Foley has for years treated her family to some truly memorable dinners. Indeed, she’s been whipping up Christmas Day feasts for the last SIX decades – with her signature home-grown vegetables, delicious gravy, and homemade apple tart always going down a treat.

Not only that, but 12 months of the year – and despite suffering with arthritis – Nancy still makes weekly roast dinners for her brood of children and grandchildren.

Suffice to say, Nancy is something of a hero.

Over the past month, the Irish public have been submitting their Christmas wishes, big or small, to One4all – all to be in with the chance of winning a prize like no other… memories to last a lifetime.

The One4all initiative – fronted by ambassador Simon Delaney – will continue to grant wishes throughout December. And it was Vivienne Foley, Nancy’s daughter-in-law, who recently reached out to make this Christmas a particularly special one for their family.

Vivienne’s wish was simple: to treat Nancy to a beautiful meal with all the trimmings while surrounded by family.

Vivienne describes: “Nancy is like a second mum to me and has made the most amazing roast dinners every single week for myself and my family since my children were born.

“She grows her own veg, including the juiciest tomatoes and the sweetest carrots, and the kids would never miss a meal at her house… in fact, they’re always queuing up for more!

“Nancy is so special to us and really deserved a day dedicated to her, so that she could enjoy a delicious Christmas dinner without worrying about anyone else. I am so thankful to One4all who have helped make this dream become a reality.”

Commenting on the first Christmas wish, One4All’s Rachel Delaney adds: “We are absolutely delighted to help make Vivienne’s wish come true this Christmas, to show her mother-in-law Nancy just how much she means to the family.

“It’s great to see how much happiness can come from simply allowing someone to be looked after and be treated like a Queen for the day, and we are thrilled to have been a part of creating this special memory.”

One4all will be fulfilling more Christmas wishes in the coming weeks, making more dreams of worthy winners come to life.
