3 AMAZING Nutella recipes everone deserves to have in their lives

These are what Sundays were made for.

Trine Jensen-Burke

Swoon.

No, we are not saying you should make Nutella the foundation of your food-pyramid (imagine a world where you could, though?! Swoon!).

But some days (like, you know weekends, for instance), just calls for some chocolate-hazelnut spread. It does. Seriously.

So here you go: Three recipes that will convince you once and for all Nutella is not ONLY good for spreading on toast:

1. Blueberry Nutella Pancakes

Hello lazy weekend mornings!

This is what you need:

2 cup unbleached all purpose flour
4 tsp baking powder
1 tsp sea salt
3 Tbsp sugar
1½ cup unsweetened coconut milk
1 C fat free Greek yogurt
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup fresh blueberries
1 cup pure maple syrup, for serving
1 cup fresh blueberries and raw sugar, to garnish

1 cup Nutella

This is how you do it:

In a large mixing bowl combine flour, baking powder, salt, sugar; mix to combine.

In additional small mixing bowl combine coconut milk, greek yogurt, eggs, and vanilla; whisk to combine.

Make a well in center of dry mixture, add wet; mix until just incorporated- do not over mix. (small lumps are expected)

Coat griddle with cooking spray, place griddle over medium heat, once pan is hot add ⅓ C batter per pancake, when small bubbles appear flip to cook other side.

Remove from heat and repeat for additional pancakes.

Serve with Nutella, pure maple syrup, fresh blueberries, and raw sugar to garnish. Enjoy!

2. Baked Nutella French Toast

Invite the gang over for brunch and WOW them with this chocolate-y twist on the old classic.

This is what you need:

1 loaf of brioche
Nutella
3 eggs
2 cups whole milk
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 tablespoons orange juice
1 teaspoon orange zest
pinch of salt
3 tablespoons turbinado sugar (optional)

This is how you do it:

Preheat oven to 200 degrees.

Cut bread into slices and cut each slice in half. Spread each half slice with a generous swipe of Nutella and sandwich with other half of slice. Tuck Nutella sandwiches into a greased ovenproof dish alternating cut-side up and down.

In a medium-sized bowl, whisk the eggs. Add milk, vanilla extract, orange juice/zest, and salt. Whisk until foamy. Pour over bread. Move the pieces around every 10 minutes or so to make sure all sides are soaking up the liquid .

Let the sandwiches soak in the liquid for about 30 minutes total. You want the bread to be wet but not soggy and falling apart. When you put the dish in the oven, the sandwiches should be resting in a small pool of the liquid but not drowning in it. You might need to pour off a bit of the liquid if there’s a large pool left.

Sprinkle turbinado sugar all over the top. Bake until the bread is puffed up and golden (30-40 minutes) and the custard is set. You might need to throw it under the broiler* for optimum crispy crunchy caramelized beauty.

Sprinkle with powdered sugar and eat while warm. This recipe heats up nicely.

3. Nutella Banana Bread

Bring this along as a homemade dessert/hostess gift to the next dinner-party you are invited to, and you will be the talk of the evening!

This is what you need:

2 cups (10 ounces) all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting
3/4 cups sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 very ripe bananas, mashed
1/4 cup plain yogurt
2 large eggs, beaten
5 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
1/2 cup Nutella

This is how you do it:

Preheat oven to 190 degrees. Grease 4 mini loaf pans or a 9×5 inch loaf pan.

In a large bowl, whisk together dry ingredients (flour, sugar, baking soda and salt) Set aside.

In a mixing bowl, combine mashed bananas with the yogurt, eggs, butter and vanilla extract. Slowly add the wet mixture into the dry mixture and stir until well incorporated. In a microwave-safe bowl, heat the Nutella for about 20 seconds or until softened.

Divide half of the banana batter among the prepared loaf pans. Spoon some Nutella batter over the banana batter, swirling them together with a knife. Repeat the process by evenly dividing the banana batter and nutella batter among the loaf pans. (Add more Nutella on top if necessary)

Bake for about 25-30 minutes if you used mini loaf pans like I did or 55 to 60 minutes for a regular one. Toothpick inserted into the center should come out clean, excluding the hot melted nutella.

Cool completely before slicing and serving.
