If you have any of this soup in your house, return it ASAP.
The Food Safety Authority of Ireland has recalled various batches of soup due to there being a possible risk they include small pieces of plastic.
The FSAI confirmed the news, saying: “As a precautionary measure, Glanbia is recalling two production dates of its Avonmore fresh soup range.
“The implicated soups, their pack size and best before dates are given in the table below. They are being recalled due to the possible presence of small pieces of blue plastic. In-store notices requesting customers who have bought the implicated batches to return them to the store are being displayed by Dunnes Stores and Tesco Stores.”
The batches at risk have a best before date of October 5 and are as follows:
- Fresh low fat Mediterranean vegetable (400g)
- Fresh button mushroom (400g)
- Fresh potato and leek (400g)
- Fresh mixed vegetable (400g)
- Fresh cream of chicken (400g)
- Fresh chicken and vegetable (1kg)
And the rest have an expiration date of October 8:
- Fresh tomato and basil (400g)
- Winter vegetable with creme fraiche (400g)
- Fresh mixed vegetable (400g)
- Fresh cream of chicken (400g)
- Fresh chicken and vegetable (400g)
- Fresh farmer choice mixed vegetable (700g)
