In fact, according to Pinterest, an instant pot will let you steam anything to perfection, hard boil dozens of eggs at the same time, heck, you can even make you own Greek yogurt – and all that in less time than it takes you to pop to your local Tesco to actually purchase a pot of it.
Dream device in other words.
However, things are about to get even better.
According to New Jersey–based recipe developer David Murphy you can not only make food in your Instant Pot, but even your own red wine.
Yes, mamas, it's true. And lucky for us, Murphy has shared the official recipe to his food blog, Food 'n Service. Speaking to Munchies, the creative cook explains: My a-ha moment happened," he told the publication via email. "The Instant Pot has a Yogurt function, and you can use less heat. Before you knew it, I was shopping on Amazon and running to the store to grab juice and to test out my theory, and it worked!" What it took? Grape Juice, one cup of granulated sugar, a packet of red wine yeast, apparently – and voila; it's like you are your own Jesus. Using the Instant Pot "yogurt" setting, a funnel, and packing tape, Murphy was left with perfectly drinkable red wine that reportedly tasted like merlot in roughly 48 hours. And although he admitted it might not taste exactly like the most expensive wine you can buy in shops, it is not far from "an extremely pleasant table wine," and guess what? That still sounds pretty darn dreamy to us!Explore more on these topics:
