1. Get your child involved

Take your child shopping with you and encourage them to share what they’d like to see in their lunch box. Let them pick the yoghurt, fruit or veggies they’d like to pack and get them to help you prepare them the night before!

2. Switch up your sambos

Try adding new combinations in your child’s sandwiches, and don’t be afraid to think outside the box! Roasted veggies make an excellent topping with hummus, while grapes go great with cheese. Just ensure you’ve halved your grapes first.

3. Mix things up

If sandwiches have become stale in your house, then it’s time to think outside the lunchbox. Soups and salads make great additions to any lunch, but you can also include chopped fruit and veggies, slices of cheese, a protein-rich dip and some breadsticks to help create a balanced meal.

4. Make a menu each week

Each Sunday, prepare a menu for the week with your kids and stick it to the fridge. This doesn’t have to be too elaborate – a simple sheet of A4 and a marker are all you need! By breaking down the meals and getting your child’s input you’ll be able to come up with some great lunches that they can look forward to.
