

SOSU Cosmetics has issued an urgent recall after arsenic content was found in the Peach Dreams eyeshadow palette.
SafetyGate confirmed that an excessive concentration of arsenic was present in some of the eyeshadows, including shades Peach, Crème, and Sorbet.
The eyeshadow palette has been withdrawn and will no longer be sold.
Customers with the palette have been urged to stop using it immediately.
"The product has an excessive concentration of arsenic in some of the shade powder colours (measured value: 0.94 mg/kg in ‘Crème’, 1.2 mg/kg in ‘Sorbet’, and 0.57 mg/kg in ‘Peach’."
"Arsenic may cause cancer, may damage fertility or the unborn child, and causes damage to organs through prolonged or repeated exposure. The product does not comply with the Cosmetic Products Regulation."
In a statement on their website, the SOSU Cosmetics team said the eyeshadow palette is no longer being produced.
They also stressed that any residual palettes will be withdrawn from retail outlets.
"SOSU Cosmetics advises that the Peach Dreams Eyeshadow Palette has been withdrawn.
"The palette dating back to 2022 is no longer being produced, and any residual palettes are withdrawn from retail outlets.
"The withdrawn palette carries the batch numbers 20210405 & 20220420, model number SOSU0992, and barcode 5391537262098 as it was found to contain an elevated level of arsenic.
"While there have been no reported health concerns, anyone with this palette is advised to dispose of it or return it for a full refund by contacting customerservice@sosucosmetics.com."
The SOSU Cosmetics team added, "Our loyal customers are our number one priority, and we can confirm that we no longer use the manufacturer of this palette."
"We take our responsibilities to our customers very seriously. We have already started implementing enhanced ingredient checks and additional third-party testing to ensure every SOSU Cosmetics product is fully compliant with EU regulatory standards."
