This Rosé Wine Sangria Is What We’ll Be Sipping All Summer

Trine Jensen-Burke

Summer is here!

Which means that we can move our drinking from indoors to outdoors – finally.

And do you know what is perfect for sipping at picnics, garden parties or, just, you know, on a chair outside your front door? Sangria.

I know! There is just something about fruit put into alcohol that makes the whole thing seem so summery, no?

And guess what will really take your sangria to the next level? Making it with rosé wine, not red, and swapping the more commonly found fruit in sangria, usually apples and oranges, for a mix of seasonal berries. Add to that some fruity watermelon, and you will have yourself the perfectly pink summery tipple.

Rosé Sangria
(Serves 4-6)

You’ll need

1 (750 ml) bottle crisp dry rosé
3 tablespoons Triple Sec or Grand Marnier
3 tablespoons agave nectar (or honey)
1 cup raspberries, a mix of golden and red preferably
½ cup cubed watermelon
½ peach, thinly sliced
5 to 6 thin slices lime
Ice, for serving

Instructions

In a large pitcher, combine the rosé, Triple Sec and agave nectar. Add the raspberries, watermelon, peach and lime and gently stir to combine. Chill for 3 to 4 hours. Serve cold, over ice.
