Intriguing survey results published by Iceland this week has confirmed our worst suspicions... over half of the respondents still believe even in this age of supposed enlightenment that barbecuing is a man's job.
I, for one, am happy to let The Man continue to think that barbecuing is his job if that's what he wants. Barbecuing is effort, effort that I would much rather avoid. On more effort-avoiding news this no-cook barbecue sauce might be just the thing to give the impression of having slaved all afternoon when in fact you just heckled The Man's BBQ-lighting efforts (further survey results showed 100 per cent of female respondents said that they would think less of a man if he couldn't light a barbecue). Lastly before I impart this delicious condiment recipe, it is worth noting (mainly to include this picture) that Chris O'Dowd beat Jamie Dornan 37 per cent to 25 percent to win the title as "The Man Irish Women would most like to.... barbecue with." Sizzling.
Ultimate 6 ingredient no-cook barbecue sauce
Makes approximately 4 cups.

Barbecue Sauce[/caption]
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 packed cups dark brown sugar
- 1 1/4 cups Ketchup
- 1/2 cup red wine vinegar
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2-1/2 teaspoons ground mustard powder
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Directions:
1. Measure and add all ingredients to a large bowl and whisk well until the sugar has dissolved and the spices are thoroughly distributed. Serve immediately or cover and store in fridge or freeze!
