To me, and, indeed, most women I think, mascara is a real "desert island" kind of beauty product. And in fairness, it is easy to see why. When it comes to makeup, nothing really adds polish and prettiness quite like mascara, and who doesn't love the way darker, longer and thicker lashes instantly makes you look more awake, younger and, well, flat out better. There are so many to choose from, and indeed many do different things (add volume, gives more length, separates etc.), but here are 10 mascaras that I have not only tried and loved, but also bought again and again. 1. Maybelline The Falsies Push-Up Drama Mascara Here is another great choice if you love full-on, false-lash looking lashes. Chanel le Volume de Chanel Mascara Yes, it's expensive, but when it comes to money well spent, this is it. The silky formula gives beautiful, fanned-out lashes, it doesn't clump and really makes your eyes pop without looking like you are wearing false lashes. Price: €31.50 Available from Harvey Nichols and Debenhams 5. YSL Radical Volume Effet Faux Cils This has been my go-to mascara for years at this stage, and one I always come back to. Not surprisingly, many makeup artists swear by YSL Volume Effet Faux Cils as it gives perfect, dramatic lashes in one single stroke. The nylon fiber brush coats each lash in deep color and gives amazing volume from root to tip, and I love how the added B5 Pro-Vitamin strengthens and protects my lashes. Turns out, those Lancome designers totally know what they are doing, and now I am more than a little obsessed, as the small, stiff brush allows me to easily get mascara onto every tiny little lash there is.
