Affordable and chic homewares: 5 smart buys from our new favourite pop-up store

Sophie White

We’ve long been obsessed with online interiors and jewellery store April and the Bear (A&TB) so imagine our delight when this cool and eclectic brand announced its Summer pop-up store. A&TB has transformed the Fumbally Exchange at 5 Dame Lane, Dublin 2 from now until July 11th.

The brand, known for selling a carefully curated collection of alternative and stylish homewares and exclusive art-prints online, has created a beautiful and inspiring retail space to showcase usual A&TB names such as Madam Stoltz, Housedoctor, Areaware and Ottmar Hoerl, as well as introducing new lines created specifically for the pop-up from the stunning Danish homewares brand Hubsch, new exclusive vases from Jenny Walsh and the quirky-cool art of Susana Parada.

In the world of the ubiquitous Billy bookcase and flatpack mania, A&TB offers unique pieces that are surprisingly affordable and unlikely to be cropping up in all your friend’s houses. A&TB director, Siobhan Lam, has an incredible eye and there’s great tips on DIY, interior design and home styling on her blog.

From the practical but chic gold storage baskets to the ephemerally beautiful glass dome, here’s five picks from the impossibly stylish world of April and the Bear to give your home a new look.
