Dry, cracked heels? The €8 cream that turned my feet baby soft and sandal-ready

The past few days' weather has no doubt seen many of us digging through the attic for our summer clothes and sandals.

DIY it is. Luckily, my local Boots is still open, so I was able to get my hands on my favourite shade of Essie nail polish for my toes, and, on the recommendation of a beauty editor friend, also snapped up a tube of Flexitol Heel Balm to tackle my winter-dry feet. And guys – here me out: This might just be the best €8 I ever spent on a beauty product. It certainly is the most effective thing I have ever spent money on.

As to why it is so effective, Flexitol Heel Balm contains a powerful 25 percent urea based ingredient that deeply nourishes the skin. The formula increases the skin's natural renewal process, speeding exfoliation of itchy, over-dry skin at the surface, while the urea breaks down hardened, calloused skin and eliminates cracks and fissures.

I applied it at night, just as I was getting into bed, and literally, after just one night, my heels were soft, a healthy pink colour (as opposed to grey and dry) and with no visible cracks or dry patches.

According to the instructions, you should apply the balm twice daily, morning and night. Once the skin is restored continue to use a few times a week to maintain condition.
