Anyway, turns out all your need is this GENIUS trick!
According to the know-it-all gurus at eHow, the way to get your fluffy and cozy knits to top shredding is as simple as this: YOU JUST NEED TO STICK THEM IN THE FREEZER.
That's right. Just ram them in there, between bits of bacon and the six-pack of Magnums that's lurking at the back. (Obvs. it IS recommended that you cover the sweaters in plastic... Nobody looks good in cashmere that smells of bacon...)
This is what you need:
A lint brush
A zip lock plastic nag
A freezer
Here is what you do:
1. Spread the sweater or blanket out on a flat surface and smooth it out.
2. Run the lint brush all over the surface to remove loose fibers.
3. Turn the item over and use the lint brush a second time
4. Fold the sweater and place it in the plastic bag. Zip the bag closed.
5. Place the bag in the freezer and leave it there for at least 12 hours. The cold will cause the fibers to lock together and prevent shedding while you are wearing the garment. It will also make it harder for pills for form when you wear it.
Repeating the process will work wonders, according to the Telegraph. An extra bonus is that it frees up space in your wardrobe!
