Kate Middelton’s Favourite Childrenswear Designer Reveals How To Get THAT Royal Style

Trine Jensen-Burke

They are two of the most famous tots on the planet, and there is no denying that we all go a bit ga-ga when we are allowed to catch a glimpse of royal cuties Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

And as the Cambridges embark on their Canadian Royal Tour tomorrow – their first official foreign trip where both children will be in attendance, let’s just say that George-and-Charlotte fever will no doubt commence and that all eyes will be on the youngest members of the family, and what outfits their equally stylish mum has dressed them in.

Known for her love of classical children’s clothing, many similarities can be found between the outfits Kate chooses for George and Charlotte and the clothes William himself wore as a toddler, picked for him by his mum, Princess Diana.

And more than once, the Duchess of Cambridge has opted for British childrenswear designer Rachel Riley, when dressing her royal tots. And she is not alone. Riley’s collections of timeless and luxurious baby- and children’s wear are also a popular choice among other famous mamas, like Beyonce, Jessica Alba, Sarah Jessica Parker, Victoria Beckham and Claudia Schiffer, who have all dressed their children in clothes from the British brand.

Remember those adorable sailboat smocked dungarees George was snapped wearing at one of his first official royal engagements in Australia? Or his red and white outfit at Princess Charlotte’s Christening? Both courtesy of Riley, who is known for her timeless and exclusive designs.

When it comes to what Kate will dress her children in for their official engagements when in Canada, Riley, speaking to The Telegraph earlier this week, predict that the royal babes will be rocking pretty traditional looks.

“It’s an official engagement and they are representing their country, so I imagine something red, white, and blue might feature,” the designer told the newspaper.

We are already having Peter Pan collars and knee socks envy!

If you fancy dressing your little darlings in some royally approved attires, get yourself down to Arnotts, where Rachel Riley’s design is now stocked. And as part of the Arnotts Style Sessions, that will take place between Thursday, 29th September to Sunday, 2nd October, Rachel Riley herself will be in store on Saturday October 1st, hosting childrenswear trunk shows at 12pm, 1pm and 2pm.
