And now, despite not being a new technique, oil slick hair has gained momentum on social media for its holographic, sleek, oil-esque shine. The name, which alludes to the technique’s likeness to the colour pattern oil makes when hitting the sunlight, is a gorgeous mix of blues, purples, yellows and greens woven throughout wavy hair.
And the result is nothing short of stunning.

Vogue Australia, oil slick hair works on all hair colours, but it seems to have really caught on with brunettes, where palette of purples, chestnuts and navy blues are blended into dark tresses with gorgeous holographic results.
