You will NEVER believe what this stunning H&M dress is really made from

When it comes to being fashion forward and also being in a position to reach the masses with their design, few brands can compete with H&M.

Back in 2011, the Swedish company launched their very first Conscious Collection, debuting clothes made using organic and recycled materials to create high-end pieces that leave no ill effect on the Earth.

And now, six years later, they continue to impress with their philosophy of fashion that doesn't leave a footprint.

Last out is this dress which is part of the latest Conscious Exclusive collection, which will be available online and in 160 H&M shops worldwide on April 20th.

When the press release went out, fashionistas and fashion editors across the globe found themselves swooning at over this dusty pink pleated gown – made entire from a material called Bionic, a recycled polyester made from recycled shoreline plastic.

That's right. A dress made from plastic found on the world's shores.

"This becomes very significant when you know that plastic pollution is a massive global issue,  says model and philanthropist Natalia Vodianova, who narrates the introductory video for the dress in 'The Journey of a Dress'. "But through recycling, waste can be reborn as something beautiful."

Vodianova is the newest face of the Conscious Exclusive collection – following in the footsteps of past spokeswomen, actors and models Olivia Wilde and Amber Valletta.

"It’s amazing to see the advances in sustainable fabrics that are used in the collection, pointing towards a more sustainable future for all fashion," Vodianova said.

In addition to the Bionic dress and apparel for men and women, the 2017 collection will include children’s wear, perfume made from organic essential oils, and pastel fishnet bags to accompany the dress, according to WWD.
