We’ve got you covered!

The school year has just ended for our little ones, and many of us will be  racking our brains for activities to keep them occupied this summer.

Whether you have a holiday planned or are scrambling last-minute,  a staycation is still a very popular option.

Taking the kids for a weekend away in some beautiful parts of the country is a great way to reconnect while also keeping them busy.

We’ve put together three summer staycation ideas in Ireland that you could head off to with very little planning and make the most of your summer with the kids.

Bundoran, Co. Donegal

staycation

The seaside town in Donegal is always a great option for a family holiday because Bundoran has everything you need to keep your kids occupied.

Not only does it have an abundance of hotels and restaurants to enjoy, it has activities that are completely free.

From the Fairy Bridges to the vast beaches, amusement parks, and entertainment centres, there is an endless supply of things to do.

Dingle, Co. Kerry

staycation

Dingle is easily one of Ireland’s best-known holiday destinations and there’s a reason for it.

Slea Head drive is stunning for the entire family to see the Blasket Islands and the animals in the area while Inch Beach is only a short drive away, with sand dunes to explore with the children.

There is also an aquarium and water sport centres in close proximity to give you more than enough to make your time spent there memorable.

Clonakilty, Co. Cork

staycation

Another stunning spot for more adventurous kids, with the option of  heading to a zip-line park as well as a model railway village.

But if you want a bit more of a chill time away, Inchedoney beach is only a short drive from the town centre and it is one of the most beautiful sites, making you feel as if you are far from the streets of Ireland.
