The family of the little girl who was stabbed in the Parnell Square stabbing in November 2023.
Their young daughter spent 281 days in CHI Temple Street but was discharged from the hospital last September.
She has been in rehabilitation since being discharged, and her family recently confirmed that she is doing well.
Her family confirmed today that she is set to celebrate her 7th birthday soon.
The parents have been sharing updates on her progress since she was discharged from Temple Street Hospital.
They recently confirmed that their little girl is doing incredibly well and described her as "a miracle."
"Things are good. Good is positive. Our girl, who is not so little anymore, is about to turn 7. I don't look at pictures or videos of her from 2 years ago because it is unrealistic. She is not that girl. She is a miracle, and miracles shouldn't be compared to anything or anyone else.
"Just last week, she was aided in walking from her bedroom to the living room.
"That is no small task. Don't get me wrong, it still hurts, but her smile and sense of humour and inquisitive eyes ease the pain," they added.
Her family confirmed that their little girl has been in recovery for an entire year.
"We are 1 year into her recovery. I cannot imagine what will happen in a years time. And to be honest, witnessing it is far better than hoping for it."
In a previous update, the family said their little girl will be returning to school.
The young girl’s family revealed that she suffered an acquired brain injury in a previous update.
“She has made great progress, and we don’t wish her to stop. Only time will truly tell. Some people with acquired brain injuries have still shown change and improvement up to 10 years later. We’ve got time.
“It is a lot to take in for all of those involved: the children, the parents, the school staff. I would like to thank everyone for their love and support over these 12,” they wrote at the time.
