It’s a girl!

John McAreavey and his wife Tara have welcomed their second child together.

John confirmed the news on Instagram over the weekend.

He confirmed his wife Tara gave birth to a baby girl.

Alongside a photo of their baby girl, John revealed her name.

“Welcome to the gang Lily,” the proud dad wrote.

The meaning of the name Lily is purity and innocence.

The dad also shared photos of his son James meeting his little sister.

He added, “Tara, you’re amazing x”

The couple confirmed they were expecting their second child last year.

Announcing the news that Tara is pregnant, John posed on social media with the caption: “Lovely birthday weekend with @tara_mcareavey , James, and bump.”

John and Tara welcomed their first child, a son named James, in December 2020.

John met Tara during a night out in Galway in 2012.

John’s first wife Michaela was tragically murdered during their honeymoon in 2011.

Michaela was strangled in her room at the Legends Hotel in Mauritius while on honeymoon on 10 January 2011, after marrying footballer John McAreavey.

John says he feels incredibly lucky to have a second chance at love.

He married Tara in a private ceremony in Kildare in 2016.

He has previously said: “No girl dreams about getting married to a young man who has been married before and whose wife has been tragically murdered.

John said he feels grateful for his relationship with Tara.

He also said he feels lucky they can start a family together.
