13-year-old boy passes away after coming into difficulty while swimming

Heartbreaking news.

A teenage boy has sadly been pronounced dead at Crumlin Children’s Hospital from drowning.

The 13-year-old boy has not been named as to allow his family privacy at this difficult time.

According to 98FM the young boy was swimming in the reservoir at Bohernabreena when he got into difficulty and failed to resurface.

Emergency assistance was called and the boy was found a short time later but he was pronounced dead after arriving at Crumlin Children’s Hospital.

No other details have been mentioned at this time.
