14-year-old boy who died on Dublin beach named locally

The teenager was from Richmond Road in Dublin.

The teenage boy who died after getting into difficulty at Burrow Beach has been named.

Gardaí identified the deceased as 14-year-old Bradly Lulendo.

The teenager was from Richmond Road in Dublin.

Bradly was swimming with a friend when he got into difficulty on Monday evening.

There were three lifeguards on duty when Bradley got into trouble.

Lifeguards and Howth Inshore lifeboat assisted with the rescue.

Bradley was airlifted to Beaumont hospital but was then transferred to CHI Temple Street.

Sadly, Bradly died from his injuries, despite doctors’ best efforts to save him.

Tributes have been pouring in for Bradley since news of his heartbreaking death emerged.

Independent Councillor Jimmy Guerin told The Irish Sun that the local community is heartbroken.

“It’s every parent’s worst nightmare. The more we think about it, the more upsetting it really is.”

“There really is a sense of loss in the air.”

Deputy Mayor of Fingal Cllr Cathal Boland also paid tribute to the teenager.

“It’s an awful tragedy when anybody loses their life but when it’s someone so young, out enjoying themselves, it’s awful. It’s every parent’s worst nightmare.”
