19-year-old girl in critical condition after collision between bike and a taxi

A 19-year-old is fighting for her life in hospital.

A 19-year-old woman is fighting for her life after a road traffic accident in Cork.

Gardaí in Cork are calling for witnesses of a collision between a cyclist and a taxi to come forward.

The incident occurred shortly before 2 am on Tuesday, May 24th.

Both Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene shortly before 2 am.

The accident occurred at the junction of Anglesea Street and Union Quay.

The teenage cyclist was taken to Cork University Hospital after the incident.

She is currently being treated at the hospital but is in a critical condition.

The teenager is reportedly fighting for her life in hospital.

The driver of the taxi did not require medical treatment.

Garda forensic collision investigators will examine the scene.

Traffic diversions are also in place.

Gardaí at Anglesea Street are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

They also want those with camera footage, as well as dash-cam footage, to come forward.
