"All our thoughts and prayers are with the child's family and friends at this very painful time," she continued.
"We continue to work closely with the local authorities to understand how this happened."
The store remains closed today "as a mark of respect." No further details have been released about the fatal incident.The BBC reports specialist officers are supporting the child's family.
