Aer Lingus has issued statement about flight delays and cancellations

Olivia Hayes

Heading away on holiday… tomorrow?

Well, you might be met with a few flight cancellations.

Aer Lingus has issued a statement saying that there may be delays and cancelled flights due to a national strike in France involving Air Traffic Control.

Flights will be heavily affected tomorrow, with destinations such as France, Spain and Portugal taking the biggest hit.

So, basically…. every popular holiday destination.

The airline tweeted: “Flights may be affected by a national strike in France involving Air Traffic Control. There is a risk of delays and cancellations, particularly on Thursday, on flights to/from France, Spain & Portugal. Please check flight status before departing for the airport.”

The tweet leads you onto its flight status page where customers can check the their travel situation.

Whether you’re flying with Aer Lingus or another airline, we’d encourage you to check the status of your flight as soon as possible as there will be delays all round.

Ryanair has yet to issue a statement on the French strike, but we’d presume the company will make one shortly.
