Very sad news for all involved.

The cast and crew of Aladdin at the National Stadium have announced today that it will sadly not be continuing its run.

Due to the new Covid restrictions which reduces that capacity of Pantos and other theatre event to 50 per cent, those involved in the show have made the difficult decision to end its run for 2021.

In an Instagram post today both Alan Hughes (well known over the years for his role of Sammy Sausages) and Karl Broderick, said that they were devastated to announce that they would no longer be able to keep the show going.

“We have tried everything in our power to keep going but now we accept that it is impossible.

We are heartbroken as our cast and crew are eager to deliver our fabulous show to all our panto fans.”

The show also dealt with a Covid incident on Sunday afternoon in the venue which caused the evening performance to be cancelled at short notice.

While the Aladdin Panto are the first to officially announce that they will be cutting their run short, they are not the only productions effected.

Just yesterday The Helix Panto, Little Red Riding Hood, announced that they would be running online performances to prevent those looking forward to the Panto from missing out.

Those with tickets to the Aladdin Panto are being asked to be patient as the box office at the National Stadium will be getting in touch over the coming days in regards to refunds.
