“Baby will always come first”
Alexandra Burke has revealed plans to take minimal maternity leave.
The singer, who is pregnant with her first child, is due to give birth this month.
Speaking about her plans after giving birth, Alexandra revealed that she hopes to return to the stage rather swiftly.
She told The Sun, “I will be back for Joseph in the middle of September in Milton Keynes. It’s so close.
“I know two months may not seem like a lot of maternity leave but I think it’s right for me.
“Baby will always come first but I feel anything is possible with planning.”
The mum-to-be added, “I love what I do, I love singing. I’m confident I can make it all work.
Alexandra Burke added, “I know people who take a whole year off and that’s brilliant, but we are all different and that isn’t what I want to do.”
The X Factor winner said things might change when her baby arrives, but this is what she wants to do for now.
“I was lucky enough to keep working up until just over a month ago. Obviously, I wasn’t doing as much as I was before, but I love what I do and I was able to carry on.
“I love my job and I always want to continue doing as much as I can for as long as I can.”
Alexandra is expecting her and her footballer fiancé Darren Randolph’s, first child.
She announced she was pregnant on Valentine’s Day.
