“I still don’t understand how we went from that to where we are now.”

Andrew McGinley sees no future with his wife Deirdre Morley. The dad bravely opened up about their future after another heartbreaking Christmas without his children.

He told Dublin Live, “With regards to Deirdre, I struggle a lot because all I really hear is Conor’s last words. They resound in my head quite a lot.

“So, there is no future I suppose, with myself and Dee,” he shared.

Andrew’s son Conor said “Stop mammy. What are you doing?” moments before she killed the three children.

Andrew said, “It can never be normal again for either of us.”

“If I can help her treatment team or her legal team in any way I’m happy to do so and she knows that as well.”

“[If she is released], that’s their decision. I’m not the professional. It’s not something I’ve given any detailed thought to. But I think there’s a road to recovery for her.

The dad-of-three says he has a lot of faith in Morley’s treatment team.

“I’ve spoken to them and it’s probably the first time I’ve been engaged with her treatment. For me, it should have been happening since 2018.”

The grief-stricken father said it helps to look back at old photos and videos of his three kids- Conor, Darragh, and Carla.

“I think those clips that I put up show that they had a happy childhood and they were loved by both of us.

He admitted, “I still don’t understand how we went from that to where we are now.”

Deirdre Morley was acquitted of murder by reason of insanity. She has been receiving treatment at the Central Mental Hospital in Dublin but could be released after 5 years if she is mentally fit.
