Apple just announced that it is officially getting rid of iTunes

Well, this is mad news.

Apple has confirmed that it plans to get rid of the iTunes music library.

It will be replaced with three different apps – Apple Music, Apple Podcasts and Apple TV.

Mad news, right?

The 18-year-old system will be phased out, but you will still have access to all of your music, whether you “downloaded the songs, purchased them or ripped them from a CD”.

Well, that’s a relief.

The announcement was made at Apple’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference, which kicked off in California yesterday.

Apple has promised that this new system will have “all the features you’d expect from iTunes, all while being blazingly fast.”

Along with the announcement about iTunes, Apple also confirmed the launch of ‘dark mode’ for iPhone.

Apple also revealed the App Store is finally coming to Apple Watch, allowing users to download apps directly to the wearable for the first time.

Exciting times ahead!

A lot of the talk centred around the many updates coming with the new iOS 13.

“iOS 12 has been installed on more systems than any other software,” Cook said before introducing its successor, iOS 13.

“With iOS 13, you’ll be able to unlock your phone 30 percent faster using FaceID,” Apple’s VP of Software Engineering, Craig Federighi said.
