“An incredibly difficult time for the family and friends”
Human remains found in Wyoming are “consistent with the description of” 22-year-old Gabby Petito, the FBI has confirmed.
The YouTube star has been missing since September 11th.
“Earlier today human remains were discovered consistent with the description of Gabrielle ‘Gabby’ Petito.”
“Full forensic identification has not been completed to confirm 100% that we found Gabby, but her family has been notified of this discovery,” the FBI stated.
FBI agent Charles Jones urged the public to respect Gabby’s parents during this devastating time.
“As every parent can imagine, this is an incredibly difficult time for the family and friends.”
“I would like to extend sincere and heartfelt condolences to Gabby’s family. We ask that you all respect their privacy as they mourn the loss of their daughter,” he said.

A cause of death has yet to be confirmed.
An autopsy will take place on Tuesday, September 21st.
Authorities had been searching for Gabby since her family reported her missing earlier in the month.
They were searching in a national forest in Wyoming when human remains were discovered.
Gabby was travelling across the State with her partner when she mysteriously vanished.
Her partner, 23-year-old Brian Laundrie returned to his family home in North Port, Florida on September 1st, without Gabby.
Laundrie was identified as a “person of interest” but refused to cooperate with the investigation.
He left his family home on Tuesday, September 14th, and has not been seen since.
His parents claimed they haven’t seen their son in days.
Authorities have urged the 23-year-old to come forward but stressed that he is not wanted for any crime.
His whereabouts remain unknown.
Gabby’s family believes he is hiding from the authorities.
Police in Utah responded to a domestic violence report involving the couple in August, weeks before Gabby went missing.
No charges were filed at the time.
