Kat O'Connor

She said revealing the identity of Boy A was the biggest mistake

The woman who revealed the identity of one of Ana Kriegel’s killers said it was “the biggest mistake” she has ever made.

25-year-old Hazel Fitzpatrick said she revealed Boy A’s identity out of pure anger.

She told the court she felt it was wrong the boys were being protected because Ana wasn’t.

She was “almost reliant and addicted to social media” when she posted the photo of Boy A on her Facebook.

Boy A and Boy B were not identified because of their ages.

The mum-of-two shared an image she found online on her own Facebook page the day after the verdicts.

“Name and shame the c**ts. Justice was served but they should never be allowed see daylight again. Two sickos,” she wrote alongside the image.

It is believed she deleted the post after a few minutes.

Fitzpatrick will be sentenced later this month.

Boy A and Boy B were found guilty of murdering 14-year-old Ana Kriegel.

The teenage girl was violently attacked, sexually assaulted, and murdered by both boys in an abandoned building in Lucan in May 2018.

Both boys were 13-years-old at the time of Kriegel’s murder.

They are the youngest people in the history of Ireland to be charged with murder.

Boy A was sentenced to life with a review period after 12 years for murdering Ana Kriegel.

Boy B was sentenced to 15 years, which will be reviewed after 8 years.
