13-year-old boy tragically killed in Co. Kilkenny road accident

A 13-year-old has tragically died in a fatal road accident in Co. Kilkenny.

The young boy died following a collision involving a car and a jeep on Wednesday, June 21st.

The incident occurred shortly after 2 pm on the N10 at Dunderyark, Danesfort, County Kilkenny.

Gardaí issued a statement following the harrowing accident.

“A passenger in the car, a male child in his teens, was pronounced dead at the scene. The male driver of this car was taken to St Luke’s General Hospital Kilkenny with serious injuries.

“The two occupants of the jeep (a man and a woman) were also taken to St Luke’s General Hospital Kilkenny for treatment of their injuries.”

The N10 shut following the accident but has now reopened.

Forensic Collision Investigators conducted an examination of the scene.

Gardaí have called on witnesses to come forward.

They have also urged road users with camera and dash-cam footage to make the footage available to Gardaí.

Anyone travelling on the N10 in the Danesfort area between 1:30 pm and 2:15 pm should come forward.
