No students were seriously injured in the incident, except for a teenage girl who sprained her ankle while running from the gunfire. Dalton police spokesman Bruce Frazier said that the teacher, Jesse Davidson, 53, also serves as the play-by-play announcer for the high school’s football team. Many of the school's students are taking to social media to protest against gun violence. It comes after 17 students were killed in a Florida high school earlier this month.Police say a teacher has been taken into custody after a security incident at Dalton High School in Dalton, Georgia, involving a person who was barricaded in a classroom: "no children hurt, no children in danger."

@nra my favorite teacher at Dalton high school just blockaded his door and proceeded to shoot. We had to run out The back of the school in the rain. Students were being trampled and screaming. I dare you to tell me arming teachers will make us safe.

Shots were fired today at Dalton High School in Dalton, Georgia. No one was hurt, and the school was evacuated. The suspect barricaded himself in a room before being arrested. He was a teacher. Can we stop talking about arming teachers and bringing more guns into schools?
