Britain’s biggest family have just welcomed baby #20 (and says this is it now)

Baby Archie is here – and now the family is finally complete.

“We are happy to finish on a nice even number.’

These days, having three or four children is considered a large family, but not so to Sue and Noel Radford from Lancashire, who this week welcomed their 20th child.

Baby Archie is the couple’s 11th son – and already having nine daughters as well, the Radfords say their family is now complete and they are “happy to finish on a nice, even number.”

Announcing the delivery online, they wrote: “We are so thrilled to announce our precious new addition has arrived. We’d like you all to meet Archie Rowan Radford.”

Speaking to The Sun, Sue, 42, said: “I’m just chuffed he is here safe and sound. It’s strange knowing you’re not going to have any more.”

Her husband, Noel, who runs a pie company, added: “It was going to end at some point. We both think this is it. I feel sad in a way but now we can get on and enjoy the kids.”

Sue, 42, who is also a grandmother of three, had her first baby 28 years ago at the age of 14, and then went on to have 19 more – making them, by quite a bit, Britain’s largest family. They announced a while back that baby 20 was on its way, posting this image to their social media accounts:

From before the couple are parents to Chris, 28, Sophie, 23, Chloe, 22, Jack, 20, Daniel, 18, Luke and Millie 16, Katie, 14, James, 13, Ellie, 12, Aimee, 11, Josh, 10, Max, eight, Tillie, seven, Oscar, five, Casper, four, Hallie, two, and Phoebe, 13 months.

The Radfords, who starred in a documentary about their large family a couple of years back, famously pride themselves on not recieveing any state handouts (apart from child benefit, which is given to all families with young children) and having no credit cards or finance agreements.
