Passengers were able to escape from the Bus Eireann bus through the emergency door.
Emergency services rushed to the scene shortly after the accident but said nobody was harmed.
Gardaí in Cork confirmed no injuries were reported when they attended the scene.
However, Bus Eireann has launched an investigation into the incident.
Speaking to Cork Beo, a local taxi driver, who witnessed the accident, said the students are "very lucky".
He told the publication that the bus wasn't breaking the speed limit.
"It didn't seem to be going very fast but then it kind of tipped over. There's a little bit of a drop in that stretch."
"Thankfully they all managed to get out the emergency door."
He continued, "It could've been very serious if the bus had gone fully on its side."
