RTÉ’s Caitriona Perry announces the birth of her second child

RTÉ's Caitriona Perry has given birth to her second child. The mum confirmed her joyous news on Instagram this week. Alongside a photo of 'new baby' cards, Caitriona confirmed she gave birth to a healthy baby boy. The now mum-of-two said she is over the moon. "Some #goodnews …Delighted to announce the arrival of a beautiful baby boy." "Thanks to the wonderful doctors and midwives for ensuring his safe arrival." The broadcaster confirmed she is now on maternity leave, but will return to work soon. She also thanked her followers for their constant support during her pregnancy. She added, "On #matleave now but will be #backsoon #rtenews #sixone Thanks for all the well wishes and queries."

Caitriona revealed she was pregnant with her second child after RTÉ viewers spotted her baby bump. "Just want to say a quick thank you to the many keen-eyed @rtenews viewers who have been in touch with good wishes. "Well spotted! I am indeed expecting some more news of my own later this year," she shared at the time. The mum welcomed her first child, a baby girl, in 2019. Perry has never shared her children's names or her husband's name because she wants to keep her family out of the spotlight. She previously told Irish Country Magazine that it is nice to keep some of your life private. "I feel like so much of our lives are shared now through social media that you have to keep something back for yourself." Huge congratulations to Caitriona on the birth of her son.
