Cambridge kids interview David Attenborough

Their little voices!

In an adorable new video released by the royal family earlier today, Prince George, 7,  Princess Charlotte, 5, and their little brother, Prince Louis, 2, are interviewing Sir David Attenborough about animals – and the result is almost too cute for words.

The Cambridge kids have never before directly addressed the camera, and in this video, we get to hear them quizz Attenborough, 94, about both theirs and his favourite animals.

We’ve got some questions for you, @DavidAttenborough…??️?

In the sweet home video, Prince George asks the iconic environmentalist:

“Hello David Attenborough, what animal do you think will become extinct next?”

Replying to the young royal, Sir David explains:

“Well let’s hope there won’t be any because there are lots of things we can do when animals are in danger of extinction – we can protect them.

“About 40 years ago I was with some mountain gorillas in the centre of Africa. Mountain gorillas were then very, very rare – there were only 250 of them left.

“We showed pictures of them on television around the world and people thought how terrible it would be if these became extinct. So they subscribed lots of money and lots of people came to help and now there are over 1,000 of them.

“So you can save an animal if you want to and put your mind to it. People round the world are doing it because animals are so precious so let’s hope there won’t be anymore that’ll go extinct.”

The little prince, who wore a red shirt, appeared to have a number of missing teeth as he stood in front of a green bush to ask the question.

Princess Charlotte is up next, and the five-year-old reveals she really likes spiders:

Hello David Attenborough! I like spiders – do you like spiders too?”

The 94-year-old then replied he loved the “wonderful” animals, adding:

“Why is it that people are so frightened of them. I think it’s because they have eight legs – much more than us.

“If you’ve got eight legs you can move in any direction. You can never be quite sure which way that spider is going to go.”

He added people were often put off by the hairy legs of spiders – but urged the little princess to watch the insects build their webs.

“It’s marvellous.”

And last, but not least, it’s little Prince Louis’s turn. The two-year-old looks into the camera and asks Sir David:

“What animal do you like?”

The 94-year-old reveals his favourite animals were monkeys because they’re “such fun”.

He added: “They can jump all over the place.”

But the environmentalist then admitted you couldn’t have a monkey in your home – making the tough choice between a puppy and a kitten.

Eventually, he chose, saying: “I think I’ll go for a puppy”.

The video was shared earlier today on the Kensington Royal Instagram page, and needless to say, it didn’t take long for the comments to flood in.

One person wrote: “What a beautiful, amazing, magical surprise!!! Willam and Kate literally killed me with this cuteness overload.”

Another one said: “This is a great example of connecting the next generation, well done David and the little munchkins.”

A third person commented: “They are so cute, he answers them very simply and clearly for their age!”

The video was shared after David Attenborough joined Prince William and his family for a screening of his new documentary.
