Camerawoman Who TRIPPED A Refugee Dad Found Guilty

Katie Mythen-Lynch

It was a harrowing scene. As desperate refugees stumbled through a vast field in an effort to reach safety at the Hungarian-Serbian border, a truly shocking video emerged, showing a camerawoman purposely tripping a man carrying a small child.

The camerawoman, Petra Laszlo, who worked for Hungarian news site N1TV, was immediately dismissed after a German correspondent captured the cruel act on tape.

Now she’s been found guilty of disorderly conduct in a court in Szeged, near the Serbian border and sentenced to three years probation for the inexcusable act, which took place in 2015.

Appearing in court by video link, Laszlo defended her actions and said she plans to appeal the ruling.

“It was all over within two seconds,” she said. “Everybody was shouting, it was very frightening.”

In the clip, a man is seen attempting to flee the Roszke refugee camp through an open field, desperately clinging to a terrified small boy. The blonde camerawoman sticks out her leg in front of them, sending man and child tumbling to the ground as she continues filming.

The website who employed the camerawoman released the following statement:

‘Today, a N1TV colleague behaved unacceptably at the Roszke reception centre.

‘The cameraman’s employment was terminated with immediate effect.’

There are no words.
