Caroline Flack’s boyfriend ‘is not pressing charges’ following her reported arrest for assault

Caroline Flack’s boyfriend, Lewis Burton, will not be pressing charges after their row reportedly ended with the Love Island star getting arrested.

The 40-year-old is reported to have been arrested on December 13 after a fight at the home she shares with the tennis pro.

A spokesperson for the Met Police told The Daily Mail that the presenter had been charged with assault by beating. She will appear on bail at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on Monday, December 23.

The statement said:

“Caroline Flack, 40, of Islington was charged on Friday, 13 December with assault by beating. She will appear on bail at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 23 December.

“This follows an incident at approximately 05:25hrs on Thursday, 12 December after reports of a man being assaulted. He was not seriously injured.”

 A representative for Flack confirmed to Metro that police had been called to her home after a “private domestic incident

And now it is being reported that Lewis has not and will not be pressing charges as he also tries to deal with the incident privately.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, an insider close to Lewis said:

“Lewis is very upset and embarrassed about how this situation has blown up. ‘It was a tiff between a couple that love each other and should never have ended up in the public domain…

“He has not – and is not pressing charges. He loves Caroline and wants things to be back to normal as soon as possible.”

Caroline is still expected to fly to South Africa in early January to take back up her presenting role on Love Island.
