The changes will kick in next year.
Two extra days are being added to the Leaving Certificate next year to ease pressure for students.
The written exams usually take place over the course of 13 days, however from next year it will go on for 15 days so students aren't as stressed.
Students who partake in 'minority' subjects sometimes have schedule conflicts during their written exams and will have to take three exams in one day, however, with the introduction of two extra days, this will hopefully minimise any exam clashes.
According to RTÉ, Minister for Education Joe McHugh said: "The change is about trying to ease pressure. From talking to Leaving Cert students I hear how the exams play on their minds and any changes that we can make to ease that are really welcome.
"The State Examinations Commission will also continue to be mindful of changes in students’ subject choices and how the exams and the timetable should be set to minimise clashes and limit unnecessary stress."
