The 51-year-old became unwell while climbing in Tipperary.
Charlie Bird has led tributes to 51-year-old Cora O'Grady, a woman who died while climbing the Galty Mountains over the weekend.
Ms O'Grady, who was from Mitchelstown, Co Cork, was taking part in a group climb for the
Climb with Charlie charity campaign. She was with her children at the time.
As
RTÉ reports, she became unwell on the mountain and the Irish Community Air Ambulance attended the scene.
Paramedics attempted to resuscitate her, but she was pronounced dead at the scene. Her body was transferred to University Hospital Waterford where a post-mortem will take place.
An inquest into her death by the South Tipperary Coroner’s Court will also take place soon.
Taking to Twitter, Charlie paid tribute to Cora.

The weekend saw numerous climbs take place over the country in conjunction with
Charlie Bird's summit of Croagh Patrick.
The retired broadcaster announced his desire to climb the Mayo mountain to raise funds for Pieta House and the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association, after he revealed that he had been diagnosed with MND.
Yesterday, Bird thanked all those who took part, and told his followers that he was "blown away" by the support he received.
He wrote: "Wow I am completely blown away by the amazing support for climb with Charlie all over the country and abroad.
"I cried so much yesterday, but they were all tears of joy. A big loving hug to everyone. Thanks everyone."
He also shared that it's likely that the total raised from the charity climb will surpass €2 million.
