Children’s charity ‘Share A Dream’ share shocking photos of vandalisation

Melissa Carton

This is awful.

Children’s charity Share A Dream recently shared photographs on their social media of damage caused to their offices this month.

The charity, which helps grant the wishes of sick children, also had their much-needed funding stolen during the break-in.

A representative for Share A Dream posted photos of the vandalisation along with the following post;

“On Tuesday 3rd September mindless vandals broke into Share a Dream – Dreamland causing substantial damage and stealing funds we had raised to make dreams come true for 15 children fighting terrible life threatening illnesses.

With posters and photos everywhere in our centre detailing the work we do what kind of vandals would smash in the front door knowing they are stealing the dreams of very sick children. We are totally devastated.”

The charity representative went on to say that because of the break-in they may not be able to help the hundreds of children that rely on their services every year.

Share A Dream who receive no official funding and rely solely on donations now find themselves having to start from scratch.

The break-in has shocked and outraged the community;

“What are we living amongst, there are just no words. Lowest of the low.”

“It’s so upsetting! What kind of low life takes money from terminally ill children… I really hope there is karma!”

Those who may have any information on the break-in have been asked to contact Henry St Garda Station, Limerick.
