Irish rugby legend and Children’s Health Foundation Ambassador, Rob Kearney, has officially launched Christmas Jumper Day 2024
The festive initiative aims to support sick children across Ireland not just during the holiday season but throughout the year.
The campaign was unveiled alongside 11-year-old Grace, a patient at Children’s Health Ireland.
Together, they’re encouraging schools, workplaces, and communities to participate in this year’s fundraising efforts.
Christmas Jumper Day offers a fun way for people to come together and raise crucial funds for Children’s Health Ireland’s network of hospitals and urgent care centres, including Crumlin, Temple Street, Tallaght, and Connolly.
Rob Kearney and Grace are inviting everyone to host their own Christmas Jumper Day events.
The funds raised will play a vital role in purchasing life-saving medical equipment, providing essential supports for parents and young patients, and advancing groundbreaking paediatric research.
“I am delighted to be part of Children’s Health Foundation’s Christmas Jumper Day again this year,” said Kearney.
“The funds raised through initiatives like this truly make a difference for children and their families in Children’s Health Ireland. Christmas should be a joyful time for children, and it’s the season for giving.
“I encourage everyone to sign up, hold a Christmas Jumper Day, and help raise much-needed funds for sick children.”
Fionnuala O’Leary, Chief Executive of Children’s Health Foundation, gave thanks to supporters nationwide and said: “We are very grateful to all our supporters who take part in this fantastic campaign each year.
“Thank you all – you are truly making a difference in the lives of sick and injured children. A special thank you to Grace for her bravery and generosity in sharing her story to help other children.”
Christmas Jumper Day can be celebrated on any date that suits your school, company, or club.
Once you sign up, participants will receive a resource pack from the Children’s Health Foundation containing posters, stickers, and more to help organise their event.
All that’s left is to don your favourite festive jumper and join the cause.
