Congratulations are in order for TV3’s Ciara Doherty, who is soon to become a mum!

The presenter revealed live on Ireland:AM this morning that she is pregnant.

She and her husband Richard will welcome their first child in January of 2019, she revealed.

Ciara told viewers that she’s “thrilled” and feels “very lucky” about the news.

The news comes as Ciara and Richard prepare to celebrate their first wedding anniversary.

They tied the knot in the Montserrat Mountains in Barcelona last August.

Ciara landed a permanent presenter role on TV3’s flagship morning show in April of this year.

“The show has a great legacy and rapport with its viewers and I am very much looking forward to continuing to bring a lively, entertaining and informative show to our audience each morning,” she said at the time.

She replaced longtime anchor Sinead Desmond, who departed the show earlier this year after over a decade.

Ciara first joined Ireland:AM back in 2015, having previously worked on TV3’s Midweek and in radio on Newstalk Breakfast on Newstalk.

She is a qualified barrister.
