It doesn’t look like it’s getting any better.
If you’re hoping for a nice bit of weather to break through soon then you’re out of luck because Met Éireann is predicting that we’re in for a pretty dull day.
With clouds covering the sky for most of the day and night, there might be a few short sunny spells in the afternoon – but that’s only a maybe.
Today will be cloudy and mainly dry, but some patchy light rain or drizzle about also, especially over Southern parts this morning. Cloud may break locally to give a few bright or short sunny spells in the afternoon. Highs from 6C in the north to 10 degrees in the SW. pic.twitter.com/aL62vNt2vv

The weather forecaster said: “Today will be cloudy and dull in most areas. There will be a lot of dry weather but some patchy light rain or drizzle also, especially over Southern parts this morning. Cloud may break locally to give a few bright or short sunny spells in the afternoon.
“Top temperatures will range from 6 degrees in the north to 10 degrees in the southwest. Winds will remain light southeasterly, but will freshen a little near Atlantic coasts.”
And for tonight – if you’re out, wrap up: “Little change tonight, mainly cloudy with some mist and drizzle. A few clear spells possible in the East with risk of some patchy frost. Lowest temperatures will range 1 to 5 degrees, but a little colder under any prolonged clear spells.”
