Wayne and Coleen Rooney are rarely far from the media spotlight, but the tabloids went a step too far this week when they snapped an opportunistic photo of one of the couple’s children.
Mum-of-three Coleen has voiced her disgust after The Sun newspaper chose a close-up image of her six-year-old son Kai in floods of tears at the Euro 2016 match between England and Iceland on Monday.
Having just witnessed his dad’s team being trounced 2-1 at the last-16 stage in Nice, little Kai understandably became emotional, but when the youngster put his head in his hands and sobbed with disappointment, snappers were waiting to capture the moment.
The image appeared on the front of Tuesday’s Sun newspaper under the headlines ‘Dumbs Gone to Iceland’ and ‘Oh Dad, What Have Roo Done’.
