Coronation Street’s Nicola Thorp has spoken out about her own sexual harassment.
The actress took to Twitter to share her allegations against unnamed men.
They included being trapped in a bathroom by a restaurant manager until she kissed him and being told by a broadcaster that he wanted to sleep with her.
Thorp is best known for playing Nicola Rubinstein in the popular soap.
In the tweets, she wrote:
Fuck you to the director who got 21 y/o me to audition before him in a bikini then blow up a balloon til it burst in my face for a coffee ad

Fuck you to the broadcaster who called me about a 'potential project' at 1am then told me he had wanted to sleep with me when he met me…

Fuck you to the restaurant manager who trapped 18 y/o me in a toilet cubicle and wouldn't let me out unless I kissed him.

Fuck you to the married director who harassed me with messages asking if I had feelings for him and threatened me when I told him I didn't

Thorp also shared a final message for those who think they don’t know anyone who has been sexually harassed.
“You’re wrong,” she wrote.
“These experiences of harassment are not limited to those working in the entertainment industry.
“Women of all professions are subjected to this kind of unacceptable behaviour on a daily basis and are pressured, forced, or blackmailed into situations that make them feel uncomfortable, violated and defenceless.
“That they may lose their job if they do not comply.
“That they will be judged if they speak out. That it was somehow their fault.
“It is never their fault.”
The actress’s claims come after multiple women went on the record to accuse Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein of sexual harassment.
Thorp was introduced to the ITV soap earlier this year as the daughter of Pat Phelan.
Her character recently discovered that she was expecting Gary Windass’s child.
