Coronation Street confirm new potential romance for Bethany Platt

Get it, girl.

Over the past few weeks, a lot has been going on in Coronation Street.  There's been the fallout of the whole Rana dying thing. There's been Sarah Platt and Gary Windass having a falling out over money. There's even been Chesney potentially going to become a father, maybe. It's all been going down, and yet some characters haven't been as active in the soap sphere as they once were. One of those characters is Bethany Platt, which is fair enough considering she had a few fairly crucial storylines awhile back and honestly just needs a rest. But she's about to make her comeback as Someone Of Note soon as she enters into a new potential romance with none other than Ryan Connor. Bless. Corrie have confirmed that things are set to start getting luke warm between the pair soon. So much so that they could end up being a proper couple by next week. How lovely for them both. The pair had a bit of a thing going on back in the day, but then Bethany was (quite understandably) turned off the idea of any kind of romance following her sexual assault trial. Last summer, Bethany was triggered by Ryan while they were kissing suggesting that it was going to take her a while longer before she could be intimate with somebody again. Next week, however, Bethany's going to chat to Ryan one-on-one about what's been going on with her. And the chat seems to go well enough because the two of them have a bit of a kiss at the end. Lucy Fallon, who plays Bethany in the soap, said last year that her character's relationship with Ryan was complicated because he didn't fully understand what had happened. "It is tough because Ryan didn't have an understanding of what Bethany has been through," she said. "She has still got those wounds. She will struggle for a while to form an intimate relationship with him." Coronation Street continues tonight at 7.30pm.
