Coronation Street star confirms there’s a proposal on the way this Christmas

Corrie's Tina O'Brien has confirmed a proposal storyline for Sarah Platt this Christmas.

Weatherfield is set to see its fair share of drama over the holiday season this year, with spoilers revealing drama at the Winter Wonderland - which will see one character lose their life. Gary Windass will find himself at the centre of the drama this year, as Derek Milligan - who believes that he ruined his life - hunts him down, determined to make him pay. And when Fiz accidentally leaves an antique rifle in Gary's furniture shop, Derek heads to the Rovers with a mission: to hunt down Gary Windass. After a showdown at the pub, Derek chases Gary onto the cobbles and the pair end up coming to blows on the Helter Skelter - and as the fists and bullets start flying, there are fatal consequences for one of the residents. But Adam Barlow has something a little more positive on his mind, as the lawyer decides to pop the question to his girlfriend, Sarah Platt. Tina O'Brien confirmed the proposal storyline - although, she noted that she's going to have some other things on her mind. "All she can think about is trying to keep (her children) Harry and Bethany safe, she’s just being a protective mum basically," Tina explained to Digital Spy, discussing the holiday showdown. "What they go through is terrible, Derek has clearly lost the plot and it’s very scary," she continued. "I didn’t really enjoy playing the feeling of that kind of fear because it makes you think about how would this be if it was for real and it wasn’t very pleasant." And after her beau pops the question, Tina admitted that Sarah is going to have some difficulty coming to terms with her feelings. "She just wants to make sure everyone is safe," she continued.
