David Walliams has shared a touching note he received from a young fan who had been involved in the Grenfell Tower fire.

It’s almost two months to the day since the blaze in a London tower block killed at least 80 people and left hundreds homeless.

This morning, the actor posted this photo to Twitter of a thank-you card he had been sent after visiting children at Avondale Park Primary School, close to where the tragedy took place.

It reads;

“Here at Avondale it has been an extremely difficult time for us all due to recent events however your visit to the school was extremely uplifting and raised a smile on everyone’s face.

“Also, we would like to thank you hugely for the donated books, it really made everyone extremely happy. It also encouraged pupils to read more often.

“I personally would like to thank you for all of the signed books you had given me – it really meant a lot to me, especially after everything that has happened.

“It also replaced the ones I had lost.

“Thank you once again.”

Meanwhile, hundreds of people took part in a silent protest march yesterday close to where the fire took place in Kensington, London.

Demonstrators marked two months since the fire and paid tribute to its victims, while also calling for justice for its survivors.
