Declan Donnelly is heartbroken after the sudden loss of his brother.
The presenter revealed his 55-year-old brother Father Dermott died this afternoon, July 8th.
In a tweet, the BAFTA winner said: “I am heartbroken to tell you that my darling brother Fr Dermott sadly passed away this afternoon.”
“We are all beyond devastated. Thank you for your messages of sympathy and support, they are appreciated,” he added.
Earlier this week, Declan rushed to North Durham to be with his family. His brother was rushed to the hospital after collapsing.
The 55-year-old’s death comes as a complete shock to the presenter and his family.

A source told The Sun that the TV host rushed home to be with his family after his brother collapsed.
His cause of death has not been confirmed, but sources say it was sudden.
He was admitted to the hospital, but his family hoped that he would pull through.
The Bishop of Hexham also spoke out about Father Dermott’s death in a moving statement.
“It is with great sadness that I inform you of the death of Fr Dermott Donnelly who died peacefully this afternoon in the hospital.
“This has come as a great shock to all of us.”
“Please pray for the repose of his soul and keep his family, especially his mother, in your prayers at this difficult time.”
